Are Electronic Cigarettes Friend Of Foe?

We know that stopping smoking can be very difficult, but evidence suggests that stopping smoking for  1 month increases the chances of quitting. Today, electronic cigarettes or e-cig are often referred to when discussing stopping smoking. But what is known about e-cigarettes and what are their effects on health? Also, what does their use for both the e-cig smoker and the passive e-smoker? Before answering all these questions, I am going to list some facts about traditional cigarette.

  • The average cigarette contains more than 4,000 harmful chemicals such as nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic and DDT. Approximately 70 of these carcinogenic and nicotine components contribute to the addiction aspects of cigarettes.
  • Traditional smoking is one of the major causes of lung disease globally.
  •    Traditional smoking is related o chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer.
E-cigs come in many different devices with plenty of them mimicking the physical act of smoking. The prime element being the solution by volume, to nicotine, propylene glycol with / without glycerol and flavoring agents. ENDS (Electronic nicotine delivery systems) have grown in popularity among smokers because they can be used in places where smoking has been banned, such as in bars, restaurants, etc,.

Nicotine Quantity
How much nicotine an ENDS user inhales is completely depends on device, mixture and frequency as well as the depth of puffs on the device. The role of electronic cigarettes can be less harmful in compared to tobacco smoking   because e-cig users are not inhaling tobacco and the carcinogenic substances available in traditional cigarettes.

However, e-cigs are prohibited in many countries, including Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Estonia, Fiji, Costa Rica, Czech Republic and Finland. In England, the e-cig licensing process is being reviewed; advertising and labeling of such devices could come under further examination. It will be illegal to sell e-cigarettes with e-liquids to someone less than 18 years of age from 1 October 2015. Also, private vehicles must be smoke free.

Electronic Cigarettes  Are Reusable
There lots of good reasons to use e-cigs, and a big reason is that they are reusable and help users  to save money spending for smoking. This is because you just have to fill the liquid in the filler to smooch every time in a cost-effective manner. E-cigarettes are odorless, so do not bother those who are non-smoker around you. The vapor contains only subtle scent that cannot  detect by the people around you and they will feel comfortable being around you. So, we can say that  electronic cigarettes are our friends.
